Haiti’s children are on the front line of brokenness and are vulnerable.  We are especially concerned about the growing rate of street children roaming the streets of Port au Prince.   Hope & Grace seeks to support local efforts to bring hope to life on the streets by empowering women.  We are working with Rebuild Globally to empower Haitian women to impact children in their communities. Every child has a story, and we're fighting for all of them.

Haiti is terrible place for a child to be born.  Birth rates have escalated since the devastating earthquake and children once again bear the brunt of a broken society.  Haiti’s children are on the front line of brokenness and are vulnerable.

"Although the world is full of suffering, it is also full of overcoming of it."  Helen Keller

Disaster has impacted Haitian children in many ways.  Physical destruction of the infrastructure has limited an already poor education system.  Food availability that was already skewed by world aid became even more dependent on foreign donations.  Health care that was minimal became crisis centered as hospitals were destroyed, cholera spiked and native professionals were lacking.  80% underemployment has led to severe poverty and desperate decisions.  Widespread death led to orphans and street children.

We have found hope in Haiti.  We believe that Haiti’s children can have hope and healing by encouraging local Haitians to flourish in all aspects of their lives.  We support the growing movement that empowers local women to be agents of change.  Empowering women leads to women caring for others...especially children!
