Hope And Grace: Justice
“Human progress is neither automatic nor inevitable... Every step toward the goal of justice requires sacrifice, suffering, and struggle; the tireless exertions and passionate concern of dedicated individuals.”
Martin Luther King, Jr.
We live in a world which has created a social structure that crosses all boundary of nation and culture. This social structure is one that tends to favor the rich, the powerful, and the famous. Those who lack power, access to resources, or influence are often left to sink or swim in an ocean of injustice- with no voice of their own and absent an advocate.
The fight for justice is a quest to ensure that all individuals receive just and fair treatment from their government and social structures. Justice work must be carried out in a spirit of compassion and humility, along with an understanding of each individual problem, causation, unjust contributing structures, and just solutions.
We believed that we are called to be justice-seekers in society, by giving a voice to the vulnerable, oppressed, and exploited individuals who are often pushed to the margins of society.
